Mammoth

So we decided to take a family trip to the snow.  We planned it way in advance so we figured we'd head to Mammoth because it's pretty much guaranteed to have snow in January.  Boy were we wrong.  They hadn't had snow in over 7 weeks.  So we got to play in the cold, not the snow. :(

(Isn't she just the cutest all bundled up?!?)

The benefit of there not being snow was that the road was still open to head into Yosemite and hike around Tuolome meadows.  It was really cool going up there because all the lakes along the way were frozen and people had come up to ice skate on the lakes.

(poor doggies, their toes must have been frozen!!)

We also ended up taking the gondola ride all the way to the top of the mountain to check out the views since there weren't many skiers taking it.

(see not much snow and no skiers)

Overall we still had a good time, of course snow would have made it that much more fun!!
